- UGSA Official Response to NCSU Strategic Plan
The UGSA receives its funding as part of the student fees that all graduate students pay. As of the end of the 2011-2012 school year, this amount was $16/student. The budget for the UGSA thus runs about $120,000 a year, but after giving a percentage of its funding to the Student Activities Board, it has an operating budget of $80,000-$90,000 a year. A significant portion of our budget is given to individual chapters to spend and also to students to pay for thesis and travel funding.
The UGSA has a line-item budget which is approved each year by the UGSA council (i.e. the representatives and SIGs). For questions or comments about the budget, please contact our treasurer.
The proposed budget for 2012-2013 was first read into the minutes at February’s Council meeting. A copy can be downloaded here.
The current approved budget for 2011-2012 is here.
